Amanda Moe, M.M.C., M.M.
Amanda Moe (formerly Mason) is an award-winning journalist, national speaker and communications expert with a strong background in public messaging and crisis management. At Benton-Franklin Health District (BFHD), she leads strategic communications, media relations, public affairs and emergency public information for more than 60 public health programs across Benton and Franklin counties.
In addition to overseeing external communications, Amanda plays a central role in building and maintaining relationships with local, state and federal elected officials. She to
supporting policies that strengthen public health and reflect the needs, values and voices of the people it serves.
Amanda helped establish BFHD’s first standalone communications department, guiding the agency’s messaging across platforms and preparing leaders for media, public and legislative engagement.
Before joining BFHD, Amanda worked as an anchor, reporter, forecaster and producer at ABC and FOX affiliates in Arizona, Texas, California and Washington. Local audiences may recognize her from her time as the morning anchor on Good Morning Northwest (now Apple Valley News) at KAPP-KVEW. Her work placed her on the front lines of both breaking and in-depth news, covering major stories such as the Odessa, Texas mass shooting and the Hurricane Maria recovery in Puerto Rico. She has also been interviewed on national platforms including NBC’s Today Show, PBS and Fox & Friends—experience she now applies to public health communication and emergency response.
Amanda is also a seasoned speaker with more than 20 years of public speaking experience. She has presented at national and regional events including the National Foundation for Women Legislators and most recently the 2025 WSALPHO Summer Conference and the 2023 Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Conference.
She holds a Master of Mass Communication from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School (magna cum laude) and a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music. Before journalism, Amanda was a professional opera and musical theater performer, appearing at Carnegie Hall, the United Nations, performance halls in Verona, Italy and theaters Off-Broadway in New York.
Amanda lives in the Tri-Cities with her husband, Kevin Moe, and their son, born in August 2025. As new parents, they remain focused on building a healthier future—for their family and for the communities they proudly serve.
